Keynote Speakers

James Rumbaugh is one of the leading software development methodologists in the world. Dr. Rumbaugh, a Distinguished Engineer with IBM, co-developed the Unified Modeling Language (UML), the industry standard modeling language adopted by the Object Management Group (OMG) in 1997. He is co-author of several books, including Object-Oriented Modeling and Design and The UML Reference Manual.

Bran Selic has over 30 years of experience in the software industry, Mr. Selic has contributed extensively to the definition of Model Driven Development (MDD) methods and tools. He co-founded ObjecTime Limited, a company that developed advanced MDD tools for the telecommunications, manufacturing, and aerospace industries. ObjecTime was acquired by Rational Software in 2000 and its products became an integral part of the Rational modeling tools suites. He is a co-author of Real-Time Object-Oriented Modeling and several other books.

Code Freeze 2006
is the first in an annual series of winter symposia on best practices in software engineering and development, organized by the University of Minnesota Software Engineering Center. Each year, we will choose a theme, and present a full day of stimulating talks, workshops, tutorials, and other activities. We will do our best to make it practical, relevant, free of hype, and non-commercial.

This year's theme is Enterprise Architecture and Development.

When:

Friday, January 13^th 2006, 8:30–17:00. Registration and continental breakfast starts at 8:00.

Where:

University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Campus, EE/CS Building

Cost:

The cost for the full day is $70. This includes parking (if you register early), continental breakfast, coffee breaks, and conference materials. Please sign up early.

Parking:

Park in the Washington Avenue Ramp. Parking is free if you register by 9 January.

Lodging:

The Radisson University Hotel is a block away.
