Jon Spence is a Technical Fellow and Senior Principal System Architect at Medtronic, Inc, a medical device manufacturer in Minneapolis, MN. He was involved in developing Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management (CRDM) Programmer Software Applications from 1993 to 2005. Jon was a change agent and a leader in the adoption of Agile software development practices within Medtronic’s CRDM Core Product Development software department. He has also served as an Agile coach for software application development teams. Since 2005, Jon has been establishing a newly formed System Architecture practice for Medtronic’s mainline implantable pacemaker and defibrillator systems. Prior to joining Medtronic, Jon developed maintenance software systems for supercomputers developed by Supercomputer Systems, Inc (1989-1993) and ETA Systems, Inc (1984-1989). Jon obtained his B.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University in 1984.
