Edgar Cobos

Edgar Cobos is a Software Engineer on a Supply Chain Transportation team at Target Corp, currently working on modernizing their back-end services. Previously, he worked on the Cartwheel team, aiding their efforts of transforming a monolith codebase into microservices. Edgar is an avid tinkerer and is a huge fan of Kotlin Lang.

Spring into Kotlin Microservices

Spring Boot is a widely-used convention-over-configuration centric framework from the Spring team at Pivotal, which marries Spring's flexibility with conventional, common sense defaults to make application development on the JVM fast and easy. Spring Boot aims to streamline the application development process by eliminating a lot of the boilerplate code required to get to production. Today, we use a handful of other external packages like Lombok to eliminate even more code verbosity associated with Java. Wouldn’t it be nice if the language matched the elegance of an expressive codebase?
