Richard Hedger

Biography: 

Dick has been involved in software development for over 50 years. He has broad experience in software development, software project management, quality management, and consulting. He spent 31 years at IBM Rochester in management of software development projects including participation on the System 38 and AS/400 Operating System development teams. Areas of expertise include process improvement, the software life cycle, software quality management and concurrent new product development processes. He is a member of the IEEE, ACM, ASQ, TwinSPIN and the Software Engineering Institute.

Since his retirement from IBM he has been the principle of his own consulting firm, Quality Software Technologies, assisting companies in developing core competencies in software development and new product development processes.

Dick is a longtime supporter of the University of Minnesota. He holds a BEE and MSEE degrees from the U of M. He has been an adjunct professor in the Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSE) Program since its inception. He has also been a member of the U of M Department of Computer Science and Engineering industry advisory council and is a lifetime member of the U of M Alumni Society.
