Leveraging Kubernetes-Based Platforms for Microservices

Container-based platforms are quickly becoming the default choice for running systems constructed leveraging microservice architectures. This session will explore container-based execution environments and particularly kubernetes focusing on the features and consumption approaches that can have the most positive impact on the overall application development process.

First some kubernetes basics will be reviewed and some positioning with existing execution environments will be provided. This will be followed by a deeper exploration of how container-based platforms influence microservices application design and perhaps more importantly allow these systems to evolve and flourish in the context of larger complex application ecosystems. Finally, solution architecture examples of hybrid systems will highlight the overall impact and value of container based execution environments. Throughout the session, concepts and key points will be demonstrated using an up-to-date kubernetes execution environment.
